Nope, they do not appear to have undertaken intrusive works as part of the survey. Seems wild to me, as there could be all manner of nasties hiding under the floor.
I feel I called this one correctly and offered appropriately with the right allowance for independent surveys. I still offered substantially over the mortgage valuation.
Unfortunately the closing date has just passed and I have found myself outbid by a massive margin. Oh well - someone else's concern now. I'm sad that I won't be able to take on the task of repairing and caring for this particular historic building.
Are you sure that it's a damp report, and not just used toilet paper that you're reading?
For srs though - that seems like a frustratingly poor report.
Did they actually take the floor up & look? I would have ( guessed there would be details on if there is a slate / pitch DPC, and if it has been breached inside / outside at all.
