A safe space to for post gravel contraptions I guess

a heightened state of confusion and an exchange of ideas which borders on argumentative, but ultimately affirmation of my own choices.

start it and hide it from me

I see what you did there

Also less chance of becoming dieded after disc brake forces front axle out of dropout.
Personally, I’ve never had a problem with axle slippage with disc & QR, using hex key skewers with steel serrated inserts that bite into dropouts.

Lol, I have dogshit Hope QR skewers with cable discs which are utterly fucked and only sometimes have a bit of rubadubdub or light axle slippage. The fork does have big ass lawyer tabs though, so there's a little peace of mind when I'm doing teh gnar and skrrting errythang.
I do sometimes wonder what life would be like with brakes. -

Discovered that while functioning brakes give a sense of security, they do slow you down somewhat

I had my front QR come completely loose whilst riding on rough terrain and nothing happened so I don't care.
But honestly...is anyone riding this weekend? I'm back to thinking about what longer trips I might want to take this year. Was thinking about Second City Divide but it's quite long and a part of the country I've spent enough time in. Have been wondering if I could modify this stuff https://www.komoot.com/collection/968956/the-lincolnshire-wolds-to-the-norfolk-coast-cycling-from-hull-to-fakenham to include a few gravel tracks, the lincolnshire wolds are meant to be really nice.

I've got a place on the Pennine Rally. So yes I will be upgrading to Hydro after that admission up there ^.

I'd like to do a Sutton-Brighton ride sometime in May with hydro discs and through axles but no barbag.

Sutton-Brighton
Do you have a route planned for that?

I'm back to thinking about what longer trips I might want to take this year.
Also itching.
After plans of riding this in June faded due to RONA, I am now considering the GB Divide.

Belmont, Epsom Downs, Stane St, Dorking, (maybe Ranmore trails), Leith Hill, Peaslake and trails, Cranleigh, downslink, Steyning, SDW, Brighton.

• #18365
I don't really know where any of that is, do you have it plotted? :)

But honestly...is anyone riding this weekend?
I ruined my gravel bike so will seek out a single hill for the road bike
-
• #18367
Afraid not, I don't track my rides. I know a few of the areas pretty well and will make it up as I go along!

• #18368
@leggy_blonde much lol, more likely a real life breadcrumb trail.

they are on his strava

I've never had QR problems but I have cyborg claws.
The 4S Disc (QR) definitely suffered from cornering disc rub that the Tripster (TA) doesn't.

Seeing as I probably can't get a grav bike this year, what's the best 1 day long distance grav route I could ride on a No Logo SS out of London? Was thinking of Cambridge, Windsor return, Oxford/Chilterns, Brighton...

Cheers for posting this route - live in Leeds & I've got relatives who live in Norfolk so this looks like a great way of getting down to see them at some point this year!
I guess the real question is, judging by how well this thread is doing, what do you expect from it?
