I’ll never get tired of seeing that Amstel Gold finish.
On another note - Pogacar looked imperious at Itzulia today. So comfortable and had all the time in the world to pick his moment.

Also: Rog never in any real trouble, Pog only scoring his seconds on the line

I’ll never get tired of seeing that Amstel Gold finish.
Me neither. Not often you see someone win a race after closing down a break and doing a lead out for their own successful sprint.

It looked like Roglic let him have it to me.

!? Pog was nose-breathing.

• #32583
I can’t see Roglic letting him take the win after the history and bearing in mind what he did to the young lad at Paris Nice.
Plus the margins are going to be pretty tight over a week.

Roglic sat up 20 metres before the line and was stopping his Garmin as they crossed it. He's got a lethal sprint on him when it comes to uphill finishes, as we've seen a lot before, so if he really wanted it he could've made it much more of a contest.

Valverde is now 5th

Looking at it, Bennett took Cav off the best wheel, and Cav slowed up, getting to the line easy.
Had Cav stayed on the wheel, then I think he would have won itz

Fabio Jacobsen set to return to racing at next week’s Tour of Turkey.
It’ll be great to see him back.

What is the significance of Spanish cycling pro's black earrings? Aranburu and Soler even look a bit alike if you squint
Basques always had their own fashion, they're truly a different country in so many ways.

I thought the races with rigged finishes only happened after the Tour

Does anyone have the clip of MVDP taking one hand off his bars to push another rider out of his way in the middle of an out-of-the-saddle sprint? Lanterne Rouge had a video of it on his channel but it's gone now.

Wout we talked about this

Looks like a concession to me. Got his number?
Why are Jumbo frittering time and jerseys away? Arrogance? Mistakes?

McNulty looked good on the final climb but the main group sat up. He's already lost time in previous stages on climbs where Roglic really went for it, so I would guess with more hilly stages to come Roglic is confident he can get it back. For Yates etc, who knows.

Today's stage is unlikely to be a GC stage, which leaves tomorrow and the often used finish at Arrate (which was also in the Vuelta last year). It's a decent climb but not horribly steep and has a kilometre of downhill at the end, so it's a big assumption by Jumbo-Visma to assume they can drop McNulty by enough.

I feel for the mechanic who got that job.
Master class in how to get to the last 500m by DQS... master class in how not to do the last 500m by DQS.
