  • We have been binging TV series.
    We did:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, started strong, got really chorsome towards the end.
Bones (FBI agent and forensic anthropologist solve crimes) detestable main characters, almost no redeemable qualities. Being a bully is the FBI guys only character trait, and apparently that is good.

Currently watching Castle, Nathan Fillion is an author who starts shadowing a police detective for story inspiration. Mildly amusing.

I think I don't like anything that goes more than 4 seasons. I will endure.

Keen to redo X Files next (redo is a bit strong, I watched irregular episodes in the late 90s)

  • @rhowe mentioned, in another thread, a documentary on iPlayer about corruption in Romanian hospitals. Doesn't sound appealing, I know, but it's excellent.

  • Yeah soz, its just I dont like streams. I prefer download all in glorious 1080p (if possible) and watch without stutter buffer problems, as usually all those shady feeds dont have amazon level infrastructure

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer, started strong, got really chorsome towards the end.

    Favourite episode(s)?

My mrs has never been a fan, and I've nobody to Buffy fanboi with :(

  • Hush, Who Are You (4x10 and 4x16)

  • Try Dollhouse and Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles while you're at it :)

Recently after watching/binging The Sopranos for the first time we've restarted The Wire, but paused before S1 was over (wifey was watching for the first time) and now watching Your Honor, not bad, but not an old show. Also watched "For All Mankind" in the meantime, better than I expected.

  • All of the Storyville documentaries are brilliantly put together.

    This one was particularly harrowing.

  • Quite enjoyed Dollhouse when I watched it what, 10 years ago? Not sure I should watch it again ..

  • Took a look when it first came out, thought "I know Whedon is a creep, but this outstandingly shows just how creepy he is" and looked for something else to watch.

  • Hush

Well, obviously. That and The Body.

  • The Body, every time.

Is Ash vs. Evil Dead any good? Watched the first episode, and it felt a little like an X-rated, gnarly, sillier and less-zeitgeisty Buffy. Worth trying a little more?

  • Enjoyed Ghosts and Inside Number 9.
In the same vein, Detectorists I thought was excellent and if you liked that, look up Don't Forget The Driver.
We got through basically all of Buffy and Battlestar Galactica. Bit of a slog but glad we did.
Part way through a rather long anime now, but that's a different thread and I couldn't in good conscience recommend it anyway.

  • The Body

Yes. Somehow I forgot about that.

  • Last series I thought was pretty weak but this one seems alright. Still not convinced it's showing any real benefit from being on C4 although no doubt they're getting more coin now.

  • Been enjoying Resident Alien far more than we think we ought to. Gentle and has some great moments of physical comedy.

  • I liked the 1st series of Ash Vs Evil Dead, but haven't got round to the others.
I am a bit of a Bruce Campbell fanboi so might be a little biased.

  • Watched it.
    It's brilliant
    Twists within twists

  • I can't believe there's no chat about Unforgotten on here. Perhaps like me you assumed it would be shit because it's on ITV.

We just finished Series 4 this morning though, and wow.

Series 1 is decent but it gets better and better, and there are some brilliant supporting roles - Alex Jennings, Tom Courtenay, Mark Bonnar, Phaldut Sharma, Susan Lynch. Nicola Walker in the main role is quality.

Had some lol's and I don't at many things at all.

They are great, got S4 ready for a binge.

Been watching Walter Presents. Just finished Nordic Murders can recommend. Set on a Baltic island with a Germany / Polish border.

  • Rewatching Friday Night Dinners, we find it rather hilarious.

Motivated by the passing of Paul Ritter

  • i find the adults to be more entertaining than the smarmy one from inbetweeners and his brother but it's actually pretty good.

  • Pui Pui Molcar, great little stop motion animation aimed at kids but that hasn't stopped me enjoying it.
