I haven't bought any knew for yonks. I only have some used 32s and BNIB 35s I think, maybe a one off bigger one that I tested for size on one of our bikes. It might actually be that on the grrl's other rear wheel.

I don't even know what the replacement is supposed to be - i've some 32s in good nick & a pair of more worn 35s - a work colleague bought a few pairs after I recommended them because they were cheap & he does about 100 miles a year, those will most likely be the last tyres he ever buys

I swap tyres more often than most people wash their hair so I have a lot of brand new up to "I wouldn't give this to a friend to ride but I'm definitely going to get another 50 more km out of it before it lets go".

I can relate - there's a 2 foot pile up my loft of various semi-worn tyres for every occasion, including a few 26" numbers I no longer have a bike for - although those will be perfect for a hypothetical neo retro mtb build for the wife i'll probably never get round to, so obviously they must be kept.

Anyone got a 25c gatorskin or similar lying around that I can have to skid through, now that they aren't fashionable any more?
-
• #8157
Do you really want to be quoted in that thread so much?
-
• #8158
I still at least four 26" mountain bikes in four countries. Those tyres might save a life one day :)
-
• #8159
It's all I have
-
• #8160
Gatorskins were never fashionable.
-
• #8161
You were never fashionable
-
• #8162
I know. That's what makes me so fucking cool.

I have two used 23c Pasela's in tanwall that i'm never going to put on a bike again if they'd be any use. Clapton E5.

23c
I'm not after that unfashionable
but thanks :)

Even worse, the logos don't match. The shame.
-

Marathon Supremes have been recommended as a good alternative to the Hypers.
-
• #8167
Respect - international obsolete tyre stashes are what we all should aspire to :)

650C tubs for the big money. :)
-
• #8169
Got 8 here. 4 fitted, 4 spares. Not for me, obviously.
-
• #8170
Good call, had forgotten about those - was there a natural successor in the Vittoria range or were they squeezed out by some gravel thing?
-
• #8171
Now that's the sort of tyres people build a bike around - a bike with £150 mudguards no less!
-
• #8172
Yeah, I have none. Because I don't know any midgets (yeah right) and I hate tubs.
-
• #8173
Oi. Me bird's not a midget. She's just, er, bijou. Compact, if you like. Highly portable.

They were hot shit with triathletes and probably TTers for a time too giving us wonderful stuff like...

Now I'm thinking I might swap the Cinturato M 50mm to the rear and stick a Rambler or Ravager on the front for da aggressives

Are Voyager Hypers still available anywhere? I wish i'd bought a dozen when PX were knocking them out for £10 in 32c flavour
