  • Seeing more of these. Especially excited for the 2.3" rear clearance!

  • @lamanimal (I can never successfully type his username) was going to get his standard Omnium stays dinged to increase tyre clearance.

  • It’s the dropouts I’d want to change. Tyre clearance doesn’t bother me too much

  • Has anyone on here seen it?

  • price seems ok tbh, dual batt and only done 3k+ miles

I just 'worry' about suspension on cargo bikes, I think its unnecessary in London. More than the weight its the service thats daunting and expensive and can take long (bike out of action).

Also with R&M, you HAVE to ride it with assist, they are so overbuilt and heavy that if you are out of battery you are pretty much fucked. This one is 38kg+.

  • What attracts you to this bike?

It’s good that they’ve replaced the enviolo hub recently, they fail quite often with mid drive cargo bikes. And yeah two batteries, fairly low mileage... price still seems high to me but maybe the R&M have pretty good resale value

  • Dropping close to 6K on a bike that you wont be covered for warranty is a little hard to swallow but its okay value esp with current lead times.

How will you get it to London though?

  • 1-Not in London, I live on the edge of horsell common.

2-attraction are availability, not having to take a hit from new deprecation, possibility of more rout options via full suspension.

3-i have a car I can fit a bullitt in. Could also put it on car roof.

Dropping close to 6K on a bike that you wont be covered for warranty is a little hard to swallow

This is prob why not tho.

  • Valid, worth talking to seller for a test ride and negotiation then.

Have suspension service blueprint 🤢 in your head

  • SR Suntour suggest a service every 100 hours from a quick google.
No mention of a service in 3000 miles...

  • Maybe ring an R&M dealer and get a quote for replacing a few bits and pieces ie- front forks, rear shock etc, just in case they do need replacing. If anything you’ll be better prepared to negotiate on asking price if they do look worse for wear

  • Looks like I'd need around 700-1100 in options to turn it into a daddy wagon also. They would need to be available also.

  • What’s wrong with getting an Urban Arrow again ? 😂

  • I just saw UA in our local park! First time I saw a non-PedalMe one. They look great.

  • Just working through the options

  • Specifically tho a perception from me that other cargo bikes would suit the area I live in and the places I'll go better.

I have been riding around on a bullitt and I love it but I have had some complaints from my daughter about bumpy roads and she has rattled her teeth a couple of times. I could ride slower and weive between the pot holes more but I'm only averaging 12mph and Surrey drivers are Surrey drivers. UA looks great for crusing around Amsterdam.

    Haven't ridden one tho so....

  • If you think suspension is a must then you could go for the XL. The front sus smooths the ride out a lot for whatever / whoever is in the front. The rider can just rest weight on pedals for bumpy sections like you do on a regular bike. I think the rear sus would be overkill but I haven’t seen your roads, and I haven’t ridden a Cargo bike with rear suspension either, maybe it’s glorious.

I know people who live out in the stix have been opting for the marathon 365 tyres for added grip over mixed terrain so people do use them outside of London :).

You’d prob need to test ride the XL and the family in your area, preferably with someone in the front to compare the two.

  • Full sus wasn't really on my list, but if the price is right second hand then I would consider.

  • that bike does look very good

Great value too if you get 2 batteries as per that spec ^

  • Think that is mistake unfort. The double battery version is called duel and is £500 ish more.

  • possibility of more rout options via full suspension.

Wouldn’t the kind of route options that full sus opens up be the kind of route options where it might be more than slightly problematic to have a bike which, at 38kg+, it’ll be almost impossible to lift it off the ground.

  • The only word of caution I have for you is that warranties for R&Ms aren't transferable and that also excludes you from taking advantage of it should you need to replace any of the Bosch components.
