In theory no, but you'd have to make sure it was properly cleaned before you cooked with it again plus you'd ideally want a fire pit to be lower to the ground. Tbh you can pick up a fire pit pretty cheap I think mine was about 25 quid.

Height is a good point.
It wasn't just for money, space as well, but there is no way I want to be cleaning it in between uses.
