I might be wrong on the title, it was described as a HSC when I bought it many years ago so purely going off that. Googled around a bit but couldn't find any other name for it.

Ah no worries. I had this problem when I got my GT - had three forks lying around & all of them too short a steerer!

According to the Look 1998 catalogue it looks like your fork could be the LDS PRO rather than the HSC which is all carbon.

Nice 1 inch carbon fork with alloy steerer with decent clearances (clears a 28mm tyre relatively comfortably) & just over 210mm of steerer. Logo a little scuffed & has some black 3M reflective tape on for some stealth visibility.
