Thanks, will give it a try!

Is there anything new in 700x28 -> 700x32 road tyre range worth looking at? I'm thinking somewhere between training and racing tyres like GP5000, Pro 4 Endurance. Not Turbo Cotton or Corsa Speed light - needs to be more durable. Durano on the rear maybe. What are Schwalbe's faster road tyres like? I've never used anything faster than their Durano I don't think.

Bit fragile; more than other ‘fast’ tyres.

P Zero Velo?

Lighter but less p resistant than the Pro 4. Do they do wider versions, like a 32mm?
They're also thinner tread that GP5000.

Schwalbe One V-Guard is faster with better p resistance than Pirelli according to bicyclerollingres.
Michelin Power Competition?

Yes but the Schwalbe Eightes ads are shit and the tyres last a ride around the block.

Specialized roubaix? 31c. More “endurance” than race though

Could be an option. Do they do a non TLR version or is their TL version actually possible to use with a tube without needing 30mins of cursing to fit/remove?
EDIT: https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Specialized/Roubaix-Pro-Clincher-Tyre-700X25-28C/DI04 this maybe

Schwalbe G-One Speeds? I like 'em. In 30mm width. They seem pretty spritely, and I did Vienna to Barcelona on them, including a fair bit of gravel, without a visit from the P Fairy.

Old schwalbe ones were my favourite all round tires but they shuffled the range and they're a cheaper version now.

30c Corsa Control's?

They look interesting. Any anecdotes (or data) about wear rates, p protection, etc?
-
• #8116
I think I actually have one of those here somewhere. It was going to go on the Mason if the GP Urban in 35mm didn't fit. I think Paul used to complain about the rate of wear on them, but then we were riding TCRs at the time.
Can't see any Crr data on them. They're pretty supple from memory so hard to say what impact that has with the tiny knobs.

They're all expensive TL which worries me, having fitted a GP5000 TL with a tube before.

GP5000TL are a really tight fit. I could not get them to seat properly on Mavic Open Pro UST rims even with ridiculous pressures. Pirelli Cinturato Velo and Schwalbe G-One Allround & Speed Evolutions were a lot easier to fit. Conti GP5000 standard non tubeless were an easy fit also. I would not want to use a tubeless tyre with a tube because they usually do have thicker sidewalls and with a tube will most probably roll slower and be more uncomfortable than a comparable standard clincher. On the other hand Pirelli claims that Cinturato can be used with a tube or tubeless...

Na. Afraid not. About to order some myself I think.
Where Corsa's were Corsa CX replacements, Corsa Controls are the Open Pavé replacement.

I know. Try getting a tube in them too. The idea behind using the TL version was to get the sidewall durability but I gave up on that idea and move to the Michi. I think I'll just get GP 5000 tubetype for the grrl's bike since that's what came with it, but I'll see if 28s fit first. On mine I'll shift front to back and then stick something new on the front.

You can get Pro Ones tubed, that's the equivalent of the old One. Same with GP5000. Don't bother with tubeless if you plan to use a tube, some beads are just stupidly tight and tires feel heavier and less supple than tubed counterparts.
Also, these tests are a bit one sided. Tubeless with no sealant and tubed with heavy butils. Once you add goo and you put a lighter tube it's about the same. -
• #8122
Let's be clear. TL road is dumb. I will not be using that.

• #8123
I've decided to give the GK SS in a 43 a go. They look the tits and reckon they'll roll fast too. Anyone any personal experience?

For glueing tread (back) to carcass use a latex glue like copydex

I have some of this as opposed to the tubular cement, will give that a go. Cheers!
