Removing PF30 with internal sleeve

I'm beginning to slowly regret volunteering to help a friend swap out groupset on his bike. He has a Pinerello with PF30 BB. I was going to use this as an excuse to bug the Park Tool BBT30.4. However, on removing the crank to have a look inside, I noticed the BB came fitted with am internal sleeve. As the sleeve looks to be the same size as the cups, I can't see how the BBT30.4 would worth as I wouldn't be able to feed it in.

What other options for I have to remove the BB so I can install the Di2 bits.

You can see a bearing face through the hole, right? Just smash that. The bearing will take the cup out with it.

Any specific tool to smash it with ?

Those look nice but spendy for one will hopefully be the first and last PF30 BB with a stupid sleeve inside as well.

I read on Park Tool that in my case, the RP-1 might do the trick

Managed to borrow an RP-1 but no joy. Was a ball ache to slot it on, but then it didn't catch on the lip of the BB so couldn't bash it out. Any ideas?

Could it be a screw on PF30? There’s a press fit version, and another that is self press fitting that has a threaded sleeve going from each cup and meeting in the middle.

You’d know if it’s screw on if the cups have teeth to fit an extractor tool on. If it is, both cups are right hand threaded, and undoing one side undoes the whole thing.

Sorry to piggyback on this... Did you have any joy? Having the same issue with a PF30. Width of internal sleeve means there's basically nowhere to get purchase with a smashing tool.

In the end I used a hammer and punch. I used a smallish punch to get purchase on the bearing then methodically went around the bearing punching it out. Got the missus to hold the bike steady while I punched it out. I then used a thread bb from WheelManufacturing

Ah, nice one. I tried this a bit earlier but seemed to be totally destroying the plastic lip around the bearing. Reckon someone (missus) bracing it and being a bit braver might be the solution.
