  • You're replacing the water bar as well? The profile you have chosen there would work quite well without one but when you have a water bar the bottom edge of the door is rebated to fit it.

    Nothing wrong with the one you've gone for but a wooden weather bar is easier to paint to match the door which is a requirement for a lot of people.

  • The existing water bar has failed somewhat catastrophically; where it's fixed in to the cill it's let water in to the fabric of the wood and it's all rotting. I'm not sure it would even be possible to fit a new one reliably.
