here seems as good a place as any for this: anyone know who makes a big singlespeed cog? looking for 23 or 24t ideally.

Great build. Did you tblss those archetypes or are you YOLOing GKs with tubes?
-
• #4668
Thanks. Old GKs with tubes, temporary though as it's the only tires I had at hand.

I am planning to replace the OG Sugino crankset of my Singlecross (that I have constant problems with chain tension varying when rotating the cranks) with something modern with external BB cups. Just spotted a cheap 105 5800 crankset, I could put a chainring in inner ring position and 41 mm chainline should be just fine for my Singlecross (120 OLD frame).
Do I need some specific, shorter chainring bolts for converting such a double crankset to SS one?
And would 36t Shimano chainring (from 52/36 double) be enough for reliable drivetrain or should I aim for something more SS-specific or narrow-wide? -

Yes to shorter chainring bolts and also to a chainring without the various ramps that help with shifting

I'm after a sscx wheelset. 130mm rear spacing (i'd prefer a true 130mm rather than a 120mm with spacers) and a wide ish rim if anyone is selling.

The inner chainring doesn't have those weird ramps I think. I've been running a 5800 inner chainring for single speed and it works fine. It's not used for cross though so YMMV
Kinlin/Borg are decent for the cash, and not particularly weighty.
