  • Having trouble finding that, but try Straight Cut for summat very similar.

  • Smaller than the big ortleibs.

  • https://kaiventurebags.com/ he says that in the prior post.
Looks like a specialized pin on the webbing.

  • Ah, missed that. Thnx!

  • Hi

I am seeking a rear rack only providing tubes for panniers and which do not reach higher than the wheel itself

Any other suggestions than the product below?

    Thanks all

  • Straight Cut bagel bag with custom purple to match my 90s mtb fetish has arrived. Can’t wait to get this and my purple seat post on my road bike and horrify the local club run!
Nice quality, bonus free bar and sticker, and quick service for custom

  • Anyone know of a handlebar bag that would fit a 13" laptop? Sick of carrying a backpack to work (whenever we're allowed to actually go to work...). I know the correct choice is probably a front rack but was wondering if there was some other solution

  • I have a custom mack workshop one that I got made for this specific purpose. .. might sell if you can collect from SE6?

  • Can I see some photos? How much? I'm SE8 so would be right around the corner

  • Hi forum - I'm a long time lurker/trader on here, looking for some advice if you have any. I have a Cross Check, currently set up with On One Mary's and a Wald basket. I'd like to mount the basket using something which doesn't mount on the handlebars, so I can switch the handlebars and stem a little more easily. I was thinking just a pizza rack and cable ties, but wondering if there are other suggestions that are maybe a bit less bulky but still capable of bearing quite a heavy load?

    Thanks

  • Pizza racks are great, but you could get one of the Nitto M18 front racks that are probably lighter and less bulky.

Or if you've got Canti mounts, the £10 front racks on amazon are meant to be ok (although I've not used one).

  • Looking for a front rack to go on my Dawes drop bar graveler thing. Has to go underneath an AGU venture bar bag. Uses will be for bikepacking mostly. Last year I offered up my (half) frame bag to use for tent storage which lead to small bits and piece going from the frame bag to every other bag available. Call it bad packing strategies. So the rack will house a 2kg tent, maybe a drybag with sleeping stuff or clothes, groceries or anything else nobody mentions on a packlist but still brings along last minute.

Was thinking pizzarack, blackburn bootlegger, pelago commuter, they all seem like forum favourites but I can't choose.

  • Are front panniers OK to be rear mounted? Or does their short nature put the weight too high up?

This will be for a bike with a rear mounted child seat, so already quite a lot of weight high up.

    Cheers.

  • Made my front rack from a old rear rack .Going to test it out over the weekend if I'm happy with it .I'm going to spray it black .

  • Sure, they're fine. You can also put rear panniers on the front if you're careful.

  • Remember front racks might be only 100mm across rears are 130mm or 135mm

  • Are there any front rack bags that can be carried like a backpack off the bike? I have an ILE bag which is brilliant but I'm now riding with my 1 year old baby so lugging the bag and the baby around when we're off the bike is a faff. I know I could just bodge a backpack on the rack but I'm hoping there's a better solution.

  • I think any bag that's designed to play nicely with a rack will probably be a sub-par backpack. Wald basket on the rack and a cargo net for securing backpack would get my vote.

  • Yeah, you're probably right and it might be the way I go but I'd rather not have a basket if possible as I still want to be able to use my ILE bag when not carting the kiddo about.

  • If you've got a wide platformed front rack (e.g. Pizza Rack) you might get away with just strapping it on directly with something like this

  • Yeah that was kind of my back up plan but those straps look pretty handy and a less bodgey way than I thought I'd have to do it. Cheers.

  • Strong alternatives to Ortliebs? Whats the recommendations?

  • Lomo and Upso

  • Why not Ortliebs?
