There's a certain amount that you kind of expect to be left behind and then bitch about on a cycling forum. I suppose they are within their rights to complain, but I'd still put them in the dickhead category if they are complaining about a couple of tins of paint.
If it were me, I would say the matching stuff was left in good faith as it might be useful for touch ups or repairs. Anything that is totally rubbish, I would contribute to the removal of, but still come back here and bitch about it.

@Clever_Pun I left the same sort of stuff as you in a cupboard, absolutely in good faith, and got moaned at. There was also a compost heap in the garden (out of sight and mostly grass cuttings and leaf mould, not rotting banana peels), which they referred to as a "heap of garden rubbish" that they also wanted removed. I told my solicitor who laughed and sent them a letter telling them not to harass me, I never heard anything more
Hi,
moved house recently and left some stuff (tiles, carpet and paint that match the house) and some stuff we didn't want that the new owners wouldn't want either
they are a bit annoyed and want us to pay for removal as it's not on the fixtures and fittings doc
Any idea where I stand on this?
I'm coming round to contributing to removal but don't fancy paying for all of it
