As long as you dont need them quickly then its excellent value. I have a 4 year old pair with 20,000+ km on them still going strong

they use magnet to drive the nipple from valve hole to the nipple hole

Any one used these? Good price but very suspect at the same time!

This. You screw a little steel stud into the end of each spoke nipple, drop it in the valve hole and then use a magnet to drag it round to the correct spoke hole, pop the nipple through the hole using the magnet, remove the magnet, undo the steel stud from the nipple and wind the nipple onto the spoke. It's a massive PITA, but not having to use rim tape is nice.

Oh right, thanks! That sounds like a nightmare. Although easier than losing a nipple in a metal rim on a finished wheel I guess. That's no fun, not recommended.

Definitely, I'm pleased with mine so far

My Carbonda CF696 in chameleon purple/blue is painted and ready for shipping. Way ahead of schedule which is nice.

Looks great - I’m still pretty pleased with the finish I had on mine.
One thing I would note is that the paint is a little soft when it arrives, so don’t drop it on concrete twice whilst marvelling it. I imagine this is just a curing thing.

i ordered mine on the 2nd Feb, had to wait for the Chinese new year and shipping. They arrived a few days ago

Same here,
I don't mind the extra time playing with magnets:
no more tape! But being unable to see where the end of the spoke is in the nipple gives me cold feet.

My LB wheels have just arrived. Look great. No customs to pay.
I think I ordered in December so they have taken a while. Were caught up in the TPA (?) shipping problems, then they sent them EMS a couple of weeks ago. Got here pretty quickly once they were on the right track.

Do you not still need tape to make the tyre/rim interface tight enough?
-
• #9118
same! I ordered in Oct, got in Jan, no customs to pay either.
-

Not if the rims follow ETRTO specs.

Nice

Our group order (30 plus rims) placed in Jan has now all arrived (bar one wheelset). All sailed through without customs.

• #9122
Not quite the same but I just had some bottle cages arrive without anything to pay either.

I thought no holes,
implied no need for tape. What I m worried about now ,
is loosing the ability to check visually where the the spoke ends are sitting inside the nipple. -

Not in my experience. My Light Bicycle WR rims with WTB Nano/Raddler tyres popped into place just fine with only a standard track pump.

You have to trust your numbers 🙂
These wheels will fail (hopefully not hurt you) and I will have the last laugh.
