But being unable to see where the end of the spoke is in the nipple gives me cold feet.
Do you not still need tape to make the tyre/rim interface tight enough?
Not if the rims follow ETRTO specs.
I thought no holes, implied no need for tape.
What I m worried about now , is loosing the ability to check visually where the the spoke ends are sitting inside the nipple.
Not in my experience. My Light Bicycle WR rims with WTB Nano/Raddler tyres popped into place just fine with only a standard track pump.
