I blame the Dutch for there being no hills in these here parts. They were the original landscaping contractors. Don't see why they couldn't have added a mountain or three while they were at it.

My light road bike is about 9.5kg my gravel is 11kg without dangle mugs, safety pizzas, shame flags, handbags and tassels

I have my own gravity. 5kg, 50kg, it makes no difference over here.

It's a good proverb, but surely an even betterest time to do it would have been when Cornelius Vermuyden was digging up big bits of East Anglia with the assistance of tens of thousands of Irish and Scottish labourers. I mean, why didn't Cornelius simply say 'Oi lads. All that stuff you're digging up, put it in a big pile just north of Ely. About 2000 metres high? Sounds perfect. While you're at it, build a road with 21 hairpins on it, but make sure one's reserved for the Dutch, eh? Nudge nudge, wink wink.'
I mean, why wouldn't you? Bloody Cornelius. Man had no vision.

Bloody immigrants, coming over here and draining the swamps.

Marshes. Not swamps. You ain't in Louisiana now boy.

My mini velo set up single speed is 11.3kg so smaller wheels are clearly heavier.

Trek?

Inner tube is quite heavy, especially on bigger tyres from 100-200g.
Ultimately tubeless save a small amount of weight but not the main features of tubeless.

It’s all about the pinch flats isn’t it? Unladen rolling resistance is gonna be negligible and probably not noticeable by normal humans, on 26”/650b/700c the weight saving is what 40-50g per wheel max (depending on your tubes)
I certainly noticed zero difference between the tube and less setups on my 26” and if anything the bike felt less stable tubeless on the road. Anywho, I’m a lazy bugger and can’t be arsed to check/change the sealant regularly so went back to tubes.

rebrand innertubes as tubePLUS,
sell it as cool new technology which allows one to mount tyres easier, no gunk to deal with, fix any puncture in 2 minutes, able to swap tyres whenever the mood changes, no faffing with air compressors
"i have had tubeless, but honestly, would choose tube plus every time, my thumbs love me" - person who rides a tow path once a week

this is cursed, tubalitos and expensive tubes do not have tubePLUS energy

These work surprisingly well.

Depends what you're riding I guess. I hate tubeless faff (although I've done enough installs now I know most of the tricks) but I'm using it for actual off-road. I've been running my tyres as low as 20psi over rocky stuff (when I rode XC in Oz I would run tubes at 60psi+). Bottomed out the front once on Sunday when I mistimed a rocky ditch. Couldn't see any damage, nothing went flat. Would've presumed that would be definite pinch flat on tubes but it's hard to say, really.
Tubes for road though - no fucking way am I dealing with sealant > 50psi.

For off-road backups when pack-size is an most important factor I've looked at these and the other "tube alternatives". Chatter up thread innit.

I live in the Netherlands; gravity has no effect here. That's why my bike weighs 15kg.
