Regarding the Honda E, my wife asks "do hamsters come out of it?"
Ruined.

The honda E looks so good in the flesh. Might be the best looking mid range EV. Shits on tesla's aesthetics

Yes - there's a dealer down the road with an entire forecourt full of them. They look spot on. I think I'd like it more if it were og Mini size, but I imagine they know their market better than me.

That's the one with the Mustang 5.0 V8 isn't it?
-
• #63656
Yes, should have been a V8 in the UK all along. Should have had those arches all along!

Actually, it's an "I don't know, I need to do more research".
Manufacturers will often use the same engine in multiple models and trim/spec levels. How is it the same engine can produce 190bhp in one car/model and 300bhp in another?
Some of it will be turbo size, some of it will be supporting modifications, and some of it will be differences in things like valves, timing, pistons, cams, and crankshaft.
With tuning and to a further extent, modifying in general, it's always a balancing act of what the engine package can make vs what is reliable, and to an extent, what is your personal definition of reliable.

What cheap little cars should I be looking at as a temporary second car to use for a year or two? Just need to get to work every now and then, no long trips. Nissan micra, Toyota yaris, Audi A2, Renault clio spring to mind. Old Japanese cars seem good value, the A2s seem to be more expensive and approaching classic status. Think I’ve asked about A2s here before a few years ago but never went ahead irritatingly enough.

Honda jazz?

Overpriced due to high pensioner demand. I'd say a Yaris. Cheap and reliable.

Left field but I have a huge soft spot for our Daihatsu Sirion 1.3. Bought back in 2015 for £2k. Used and abused daily and cost me around £1k in maintenance over 5 years. It's fugly but fun to drive and surprising spacious inside.

Am I the only one who keeps misreading Honda E as "E. Honda"?

Someone needs to make a Deadmau5 level ironic wrap.

I did the same thing. Also, there's an LS400 parked on my road that I drive past every morning taking my daughter to the childminder. Every time I have the image of kicking the shit out of it.

They even stuck a 2.0l pinto in to the escort MK1.
So did Ford, in the Mk1 RS2000.

The Mk1 Rs2000 Europe came later than the south african one.
Can't remember if the SA car were locally built or UK built and exported.
