I gave it a quick go but nothing came up. ‘Cycling socks pedal snake’ and variations of it.

just looked at his story, the "bootleg" looks nothing like the "original" anyway, does he think that the radavist are the first people to think of putting a snake on a sock?

Ok, plunged in and bought a competitively priced carbon post on AliExpress - if I don't report back it's because I am impaled on a carbon spike

Ali-Express carbon wheels arrived. Finish is pretty impressive, the rims are immaculate. The only part i'm not overly confident of are the hubs. Rear hub especially seems a bit flimsy - freehub sound is disconcertingly quiet and the seal doesn't seem particularly robust.
After fitting, I noticed there was 1-2mm play in the rear wheel, which disappeared when I really tightened the through axle in tight. I contacted the manufacturer about this, and they said 1-2mm play is normal.
Weight for the pair is 1550g, so not svelte, and that's with CX ray spokes. I'd like to think the majority of the weight lies in the hubs.
I'm planning to take these wheels on a ride from Lands End to John o Groats later this year, fingers crossed they stand up until then.

I've been running an aliexpress carbon seatpost/saddle for c.6000km with no issues. I weigh c.80kg. No creaking or seatpost slipping issues, and the saddle weighs 100g.

Sweet. Look forward to receiving mine. Did you get tubeless ones? I asked for no rim bed spoke holes which they were happy to do

You monster. Such a PITA to build. Nice when they're done though.

Nice! I just ordered a pair today on the sale, will be here in a month (hopefully)
-
• #9091
They’re prebuilt so not my problem :)
Although I don’t imagine I’ll keep the hubs for the lifetime of the wheels so it may bite me in the future -
• #9092
Yes went for tubeless, I think that was the only option for the rim width I went for.
Didn't get charged customs either! -

Are this go-proe ? we should ask for a lfgss discount , after i posted quite a few of us bought their wheels. the rim definitely the best part of the package but on my pair the hub are holding on good enough

For info on the go-proe wheels, I ordered on the 7th March, they still haven’t left China

Poor wheebuilder has probably gone on strike because some evil bastard ordered a wheelset with no spoke holes and they suffering PTSD
-
• #9097
The delay in mine was sitting in the UK for two months (they landed late December) then suddenly arriving unexpectedly and with no customs to pay. The slow burn was worth it

Wheel building noob here, but how does having no rim bed spoke holes work? How do you get the nipples in?
-
• #9099
I wondered that myself. Drop it in the valve hole and jiggle it about?

I’ve got a touch more heft than 80kg so decided to go for a 400mm post as we all know that long is strong.....
Was he wining about this on Instagram?
