I was joking but the thought did cross my mind when wondering how much my missus could ride on 25mm road tyres. She just walks bits and I thought "Hey I walked stuff in Badlands, I could just walk a bit more stuff" but yeah, I also rode way more so it's definitely a false economy. Maybe for longer rides/races I'd think about going a bit skinnier, simply because the 50mm I have up front is pushing the clearance limits.

9.5kg is just ny racks and bags, that's before the load, the bike, the rider, the seat ornaments, the 4 klean kanteens.....

... plus roof rack, extra hardtail, print out of this month's missed lfgss posts bound and leather clad etc etc

For a full carbon bike, carbon cockpit, carbon seatpost, carbon saddle, carbon cranks, yes :)
