  • Set saw blade to depth of floorboard and you shouldn’t have any trouble. And if there’s a pipe right at surface level, the board should have been up previously which is easy to spot.

    Judging by the state of many lifted boards, many tradesmen don’t give a flying fuck when they pull them up.

  • Or cutting off the joist, and then bodging in a support that is bound to fail when the board is replaced.

    The list goes on.
