  • The sparks a fuckin idiot by the sounds of it, you certainly dont just blast in with a ripsaw and blame someone else. Good way to get a claim on your insurance too with recklessness like that.

  • Loads of older houses we work in have floor boards so we tend to use a bolster first, if not yeah the multi tool is the one now. My old mans been at the gas for 40 years and never sawed through a pipe because of caution. We also don’t have a pipe detector.

    Imo it’s just reckless from the spark

  • Set saw blade to depth of floorboard and you shouldn’t have any trouble. And if there’s a pipe right at surface level, the board should have been up previously which is easy to spot.

    Judging by the state of many lifted boards, many tradesmen don’t give a flying fuck when they pull them up.
