It's a piece of piss to tint the windows, less is more.
One I tinted earlier..

It's easy, but mistakes or misfortune are catastrophic;
- fluff, dirt and other debris getting stuck in the tint
- the tint going on too cold and not settling properly
- the tint going on too hot and not settling properly, i.e. dryspray
- the can (or airbrush) choosing a really bad moment to have a stutter
- not laying down the base white coat well enough, and having the tint back the white to a slight grey
- fluff, dirt and other debris getting stuck in the tint

Warm environment, and can in hot water for a few mins before works for me.

Don’t know if you know already, but Mikkola died aged 78 just a couple of days ago.

I've bashed it so you don't have to (pre-fog lights). This is my first Tamiya. It took longer than expected.
I'm in the process of putting go-faster lights on it now and have got a trip to the park booked!
I've ordered some more suspension as well but there seems to be a massive delay on everything Tamiya related. I'm not sure if it's Brexit or Covid.

Very nice.

Ha. I've kept it classy with some coloured LEDs. In this pic, the hazard lights are on.
The bottom set of fog lights turn on when you accelerate hard (!!)
All very fun.

Awesome.
Did you make the eaton yale decals or are they available from somewhere?
I think i'd quite like to do a Cossack or Andrews Heat for Hire one

Upgrades for the Fyredragon...
Staying brushed but going down to 8T with lipo 2S.
Let's hope it works!

Fit is all good.
Just hope for some fairer weather for park runs.

8T Brushed?! Can you even get a speedo that will drive it?! ;)
Think the hottest I ever used back in the day as a 13t double.

any reason you didn't brushless?

new age fun, with a vintage feel

Heh, I might eat my shorts.
They were fairly cheap so took a gamble.
Brushless setup would be spenny and not even sure the retro tamiya drive train could handle.

If it is actually 8T, it will eat those Tamiya bullet connectors for breakfast. Nom!
The Absima thrust senorsless stuff is hot enough tbh, all though it cogs a little. Apparently they are 380 in a 540 can, but meh, it still goes like a rocket.

Also have a 17T that it came with so can peddle back if need be. Could even setup as 2wd if it gets too hot.
-
• #1897
The 17T is 28,000 rpm. Which is just a bit pony.
The 8T is 43,00 rpm. If it works. :o)

Oof that gonna be fast

17T double back in the day was enough to put my Grasshopper up on its back wheels when accelerating and eventually shred the gearbox! Can’t imagine what these modern setups are like!

Is interesting. Maybe there is something in the 380 / 540 can thing. The 17T with lipo is almost pedestrian. Will see if the 8T works any better.
I have some OG Kyosho / LRP motors in the Beetle / CLK and they seem to pack way more punch for turn no.
Oh yeah. That thing. Not sure what to think about it. I guess it's nice that someone else gets to roll the dice with the window tint.
