They have these tightly packed small knobs so if it is really muddy they bog up. But so do most tyres that don't have a big and generously spaced tread pattern. In my opinion they shed the dirt reasonably well again when they get the chance. I don't tend to send it through deep mud and puddles on this bike so I am perfectly fine with that. They excel in dryer conditions and mixed surfaces. I did the 2020 P&L New Forest trip and Brother in the Wild'20 on them. Felt completely comfortable and safe.
