I found this pic. quite by chance yesterday in a copy of 'Wheel' for October 1957. This was the official journal of the NCU and so doomed to failure, but I just happen to have a copy.
Unfortunately the picture has not reproduced well, but I think you can get the idea. This was a six day stage race won by Stan Brittain and was one of the first continental successes on the road for this country. It certainly looks as though JP played a significant part.
I've acquired the frame myself with the intention of giving it to a grandchild, so if any suitable forks do turn up, I'm in the market for them.
