I, for one, am grateful to kl for flegging it up.

I mean, I first noticed this sort of thing when, soon after Johnson 'became' Mayor of London, Crossrail and the Olympic Park were both named after the Queen.
It's a kind of 'let's beat everyone over the head with our return to primitive iconography so they start to believe it's actually normal'.

England has gone full Flegger.
Both hilarious and sad.

Johnson
Union Jerk, perhaps.

It's 20,000 TEUs according to wiki. That's a lot of trips to dump the containers somewhere carefully without damaging the contents and then you have to put them back on a ship. I doubt it's viable.

Alan Turing on the new £50 bank note, to be released on his birthday (23 June), classy. I hope the puzzles inspire our future computer minded children

Did the government ever make good on their promise to consider retrospectively removing all convictions for homosexuality in the end? I know they did for Turing but there was a discussion about doing it for everyone else too.

Posthumous automatic deletion of convictions. If alive you have to apply and it's decided on a case by case basis - and still sounds pretty crap.

Thanks @jellybaby / @hoefla - I guess I can understand that pardoning people for things that are no longer crimes makes sense but surely for those alive that could have been done as easily as those who are dead.

This flag business is free poll points for the Tories. They add some flags somewhere, some lefty takes the bait and whinges, and the Sun writes an article about how Labour (or Munchetty or whoever) hate Britain and the flag.
Just let them get on with embarrassing themselves without explicitly pointing it out

I may need therapy, that headline cracked me up to the point of tears

the college that spawned Farage is full of assholes? Never...

Being an asshole is one thing. It's the rapey bit that worries me more.

Similar stories going around about loads of schools at the moment. Here's one about King's College in Wimbledon that's quite recent:-
It's also not specific to fee paying schools, although I'm sure that extra bit of entitlement does make it more common. There's plenty of bad shit going on in almost every school sadly.

So that's what he's been doing instead of being on here.
It is truly frightening that you can simply 'raise' £/$/whatever 1m just like that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of qualifications required for the teachers also contributes.

All kicking off here in Blackheath. Other half saw a car seemingly deliberately ram a police car on the A2 (at slow speed but still...), followed by at least half a dozen police vehicles incl. unmarked cars and a riot van turn up within five minutes. Looks like a pursuit on foot ensued, sirens eventually died down but can still here a helicopter buzzing overhead.

According to what I've just seen on adsbexchange, the helicopters are military rather than polis.
I haven't really been paying attention. Where has this flag thing come from and why is it getting any oxygen? It's so desperate.
