I mean, I first noticed this sort of thing when, soon after Johnson 'became' Mayor of London, Crossrail and the Olympic Park were both named after the Queen.
It's a kind of 'let's beat everyone over the head with our return to primitive iconography so they start to believe it's actually normal'.
