Damn! Trek Baloise use them for CX racing so they should be OK for enduroad/gnarmac riding
My Red AXS cranks came with pedal washers, were you using any? Not that they would have made any difference for that failure.

is this bad

yeah, was using washers... they're intact

Get some GRX..

i've replaced them with another set of Red cranks tbf... otherwise i'd need a new chainring and BB... i got a good deal on another 2nd hand set of cranks, taken from a new bike blah blah blah, they look like they've never been used... if they fail again, then i might review this idea!

At least you had the little rubber sock on them

I’m torn between blaming this on shimano or 1x
-
• #17834
yeah... that helped immensely tbf
-
• #17835
I bet it's because you had the pedal washers the wrong way round.

That would never have happened with Time Atacs. Just saying.

I actually managed to ride this today.
Put a bit of inner tube around the seatpost and taped the shit out of it with self amalgamating tape and it held solid. Of course the seatpost was ever so slightly too low when I did the taping so I need to redo it but it worked and held whilst I got rad.I need to get some of the silly 3T difflock caps for the seatpost so I can lose the pro logo saddle and put something round railed on. Then I can probably justify putting some lighter wheels on it, a 3T carbon cockpit and never riding it but not because it's broken.

Anyone know any EU based brands making Genesis CdF-esque frames? Brexit and Coronavirus is crushing any hope I have of getting one anytime soon.

Bombtrack Hook EXT is pretty close geo-wise

Rondo maybe?
-
• #17841
Did they fix the problem that led to the recall?
-
• #17842
Thanks, for some reason I thought Bombtrack were from the UK, my bad.
-
• #17843
I don't know about any recalls, so I pass. I hope there hasn't been a Bombtrack one, since I haven't been contacted...

Epping Forest this morning. Didn’t need to wash my bike.
That sloppy shit is a gravel fetish IMO. It’s clearly unridable.

The recall was due to fender bolts coming loose. I suspect the fix was some loctite or a nyloc nut.

It's good training tho

And it was only for Muut model, the others were unaffected.
-
• #17848
The only reason for a recall was the mudguard mount on one model, Rondo Mutt, and this was resolved already by replacing the mudguards.

Wow! Where was that?
No, the pedal thread and splines are bonded to the carbon crank. They also do occasionally come loose, but normally it's the spindle end, not the pedal end.
