Encouraging your son to support your team when he’s born in a city with seemingly richer pickings is serious and risky business

Yeah but imagine they chose spurs.

Ah so it’s the old, depressing, “hold city at bay with a skeleton squad, fashion a few decent chances then gradually run out of puff and lose late on.” kinda of defeat. Virginia was golden.

Just catching up on the Football Index story and can’t for the life of me understand how it was legal.

£8m a season for the WSL. Bargain if you think about it. Not that I’m the target demographic but there’s plenty of upside in the game.

My (11yo) daughter will probably watch it.
The rule in our house is that "Sport isn't telly" so there's no limits on how much sport you can watch. I've found her slumped in front of the snooker at some points when she's desperate, also some random Ligue Un or Bundesliga game (we have BT Sport but not *fuck Murdoch* Sky).
As a follower of a League Two club the WSL isn't that bad.

Going to try that one with the better half.

My eldest will watch all sorts of sports with me, and when anxiety kicks in some nights will ask to lie on the sofa to watch snooker with me.
My youngest hates it when I stick the bikes on, unless I play a game at the same time. -

It's either this or cricket in one corner and footy in another.

From what ive read and a seen Frank gets tucked in to that cult status player but i think his character sometimes overshadowed what a very good player he was.
RIP Frank -

He was amazing, me and my little mates idolised him... Such silky skills, golden boots...

There was an ad for Worthington E beer in the 70s, with the line "E's so easy". Whenever Frank scored that would ring out round Filbert Street

I discovered last night that the site https://fbref.com/en/ imports nicely into PowerQuery/BI. Means you can produce ludicrous charts such as this

It's great and all that, but the average ages is all wrong. Pretty sure we are (one of) the youngest and Southampton are definitely a bunch of old cloggers.
Can't comment on the nutmeg stats though.
That sums up what I thought was going to be the best era in my lifetime supporting little ol’ Leicester...
(I did enjoy the Jimmy Bloomfield days of Weller, Worthington, Birchenal, Rofe and Shilton - but I was young and we didn’t win anything)
