So as NI stayed within EU food rules, imports are shifting from GB to ROI.
There is to be an impact around meat from GB like sausages. But since Frost has gone lolno on the checks on that, can't say anything about that.
Food shops that deal in small amounts of foods like specialist cheese shops said prices are up and paperwork for them for GB cheese is significant.
For metrics I'd need to go have a Google there will be some reports no doubt.
Our local Spar already imported most foods via Ireland or sourced in NI so didn't notice anything.
But supermarkets that imported mostly via GB have had to change supply routes / prepare for paperwork etc.
I think small shops are mostly screwed as trusted trader scheme proposals seem to be all about large amounts of supplies.
Do you know what the specific Eire/NI food impact has been? That always seemed like a key economic part of the protocol especially in terms of meat processing.
