Which Tyres?

Shredded my S-Works Turbo 2Bliss on a ride through Surrey Quays yesterday and need a replacement. This particularly one has been discontinued and the price for a replacement from Spesh is eye watering. Come to think of it, the price for pretty much all tubeless road tyres are eye watering to me.
I saw Wiggle has the Open Pave in 27mm which will cost the same for a pair that one tubeless offering. Is there any reason not to, or should I bite the bullet and get tubeless, in which case, what's the forum approved 28-30mm tyre, grippy and puncture resistant?

Did anybody spend the £££ on these and can say something about it? I am looking at their 650b models and like the look of them very much but the price tag is a bit steep.

I've never had them but had a bunch of compass or whatever they are called now. Same factory, I assume similar thin casing, and also $$$.
If you are cool with extremely supple tyres and don't get many punctures, they will likely be lovely. If you get lots of punctures buy some marathon plus.

I have to say I am quite lucky. Since I started riding tubeless offroad 4 years ago (?!) I haven't had a single puncture. Not even a bit of spraying. The ultradynamicos come with different casings like the compass tyres.
I currently ride WTB 650b x 42 Resolutes and Schwalbe G-One Allround Performance TLE 700 x 38 with the right pressure I am very happy and comfortable on either one of them. But not sure how they compare to compass or ultradynamico.

I've been riding around with these for a few weeks now - they seem really nice. Road rides around the Kent/Surrey/London border, the lanes are pretty okay at the moment. No visitations.

soo... I think I have clearance for some 30mm 700c road slicks, and want gumwalls - what does the forum approve, I'm between Challenge Strada Bianchi and Vittoria Corsa - anything else I should look at? turbo cottons don't come in 30mm sadly... not running these tubeless...

I have schwalbe g one all round 700x40, currently mounted on i19 rims. One is missing a spoke which I’m yet to sort out so going about on other wheels. You’re welcome to come and try them if you like. End caps are 12x142, 100.

I was more specifically after those tyres as I know I can fit 40s, having successfully used Nanos in the past, I wanted to see how those tyres come up

the new schwalbe pro ones come in 30mm skin wall. the non-tubeless version too.

Not ideal race tyres but 30mm Jack Brown Mile Munchers are nice.

Aint no one road racing on 30mm anyway so I wouldn't worry about that.

Tell that to Trek-Segafredo who were racing Paris-Roubaix on 30c Corsa Controls in 2019.

Exception that proves the rule. P-R cobbles are rougher then most gravel races.

Lead group at Strade Bianche were on 28s and pros are using 24/25s for normal road races. Tubs too in general so true to width.

P-R cobbles are mental.

30mm Jack Brown Mile Munchers are nice.

How do these new Veloflex clinchers (Corsa Evo) compare to the old ones (specifically Master), in terms of size?

I found that the 25mm Masters were much smaller compared to the Conti GP4000SII of the same declared size, and I had a lot of room to spare.

So if the 25 mm GP4000SII were spot on, with 1-2 mm of room to spare, would I be safe getting the 28 mm Veloflex Corsa Evo? I don't want to get a 25mm one and end up with realistically the same 23 mm tire again.

GP4000 SII always were bigger than stated. 25s more like 27/28. The GP5000 sizing is more normal.

I cant help with the new veloflex sizing but if I were to take a punt, I'd go with the 28s being similar in size to the old conti 25s. 1-2mm seems extremely tight though!!

Here's the clearance I have with 25mm GP4000SII in the front. There's enough room in the back.

If the new-gen Veloflex uses the same sizing standard as the old-gen, 25mm would get me much smaller tire than I would want. (Considerably smaller than this one pictured).

Ideally, 28mm Corsa Evo would be the same as 25mm GP4000SII, or a tiny bit taller, since I'd be comfortable with even a bit tighter clearance than pictured.

In case they changed their sizing standard from the time they produced the Master 25, I could end up with too big of a tire that I can't fit in the front, if opting for the 28mm. Maybe someone had experience with both old and new generation of Veloflex. I believe the old Master 25 measures 66mm of width, unmounted and laid flat, from end to end.

I have them in 700x42? JFF casing, they're nice tyres, expensive, but very happy with them, set up tubed initially then went tubeless, no problems so far, I run them at 30/35psi and they feel great, plenty grippy (on road) and very comfortable.
I don't mind the hipster tax, they're cheaper than Compass/Rene, not much more than Teravail, and have minimal branding, which I very much like.
