  • I've not posted here for a while. The world has got in the way a bit, and a few things fell by the wayside.

Here's a doodle. I often mess about while the radio or TV is on. Clears my brain a bit.

  • As it’s also cat themed, I thought I’d share this great cat my 6yo just smashed out.

  • Pretty cool cat, that.

  • That's very impressive! From the upturned triangle with the anchor to the heart shape that makes the hind leg - brilliant.

  • Work in progress. Still have to figure outa head and a belly...

  • Just started a fun endeavour with a mate who makes ambient/noise/drone kind of music (luckily, my kind of thing). One word brief - he does a little bit of music/sound and I do a picture. Might animate some if I ever have time. I’ve done my first one - not going to show him yet, so we’re both doing them ‘blind’ but he’s not on here so thought I’d share. The brief is ‘fragment’.

  • That would make a great album cover!

  • I actually just did an album cover for a release my mate did with someone else. Very fun - I’m hoping it gets a vinyl release!

  • Two more from the drawing class. The boy on the horse is from a photo in the Guardian, the other from a Holbein drawing of Anne Boleyn.

He doesn’t have much online presence for his own stuff. The album I did the cover for isn’t out till September.

  • Revealing 115 years of paint and varnish stripping this built in cupboard in my dining room, which has become my drinks cabinet, Not actually planned to be installation abstract art, but I thought worth sharing .

  • Good work. Wood underneath looks in good condition are you gonna sand back or leave rugged and rough

  • Thought this was too good not to share. Another one from my daughter.

  • Would buy my pineapples there

  • I want to buy all the pineapples 😁😁

  • I used Nitromors to strip away the paint. It appears that there has been at least 4 colours applied in 115 years. Where the grain is now exposed, I will sand that to a smooth finish perhaps add some tung oil, the reminant of paint colours and varnish applied add character so I’m going for the distressed / lazy / hipster DIY look. Also the reversing from light to dark recessive interior changes the whole aspect of this cabinet and its setting in my dining room. The ceiling and above picture rail walls have also be stripped of textured lining adding more distressed feel of the space.

I’m gonna fill my cabinet with fresh pineapples to garnish my cocktails, I am inspired!!

  • Also, I did this for a mate. I often quickly divide up a page into thirds to help compose stuff - I was struggling to explain to them how to do it freehand/without measuring anything, so I made a gif. Thought someone might find it useful here
