what about a Salsa Woodchipper (25.4 clamp) with v-brake compatible Tektro levers already clamped on?
-

yes please! PM incoming

ah cheers. that's potentially very interesting but I'm sticking with cantis for now, and not sure if the levers would be compatible?

Ah yeah, these are linear pull (and they really do lock up the wheels with a good set of v-brakes!) but not for cantis. I do have a regular set of Tektro drops but they’ve got a running repair on one that needs an eye kept on it.
I was going to do the bar and the 520s at £15 collected. I’d do that and throw in the other drop levers too. And a stem, if you want! (size dependent).
[your project sounds very much like my project]

Ooh go on then you've twisted my arm. I was thinking I'd probably end up putting Vs on it eventually if I decide to keep it, so it would be good to have both sets of levers. PMing you now

I have a new pair of schwalbe g ones in 35mm
About to start building up a budget gravel bike on a 90s steel hybrid frame. Haven't 100% committed to a drop bar build so I'd like to put something together with cheap and 2nd hand parts before potentially committing to some more boujie parts. Currently looking for the following:
1" - 1 1/8" quill stem adapter
Flared drop bars e.g. Midge bars or similar
Drop bar levers suitable for canti brakes
700c tyres around 35mm
Bar end shifters
Ta!
