  • Nope that’s lovely. Nicely balanced dial and a little hit of colour.

  • Lovely.

  • This is very close, if not spot on, when it comes to a “perfect watch size”. Looks amazing on your wrist.

  • I’ve seen sales assistants and customers both wave off 36mm watches without a moment’s consideration when it’s a bloke shopping. Like it’s a given that it’s a “ladies size”. I tried the 34, 36 and 39 and the 36 is the correct size for a (non-diver) Rolex. Come at me, bros!

The Hoodwinkee hands-on of exactly that model (written by Cara Barrett) described it as “from the ladies collection” and the comments absolutely lit up with furious watch nerds.

  • 36mm OP style watch is versatile and classy. Add the bezel (3-4mm) and you got perfect size diver.

  • the 36 is the correct size for a (non-diver) Rolex

For you or perhaps your wrist size. My 39 I feel is too small.

  • That’s a debatable situation here. I agree by today’s standards 39mm looks/feels better than 36mm to most (especially with large wrists) men. However, on the other side - I guarantee you’d get used to the 36mm, especially on the bracelet.

  • I love it and would take it but buying has to be put on hold for the short term.

If you hold on to it for a few months let me know 👍

  • I can't wear less than 39mm.

    Small penis syndrome.

  • I know, I’m semi-trolling. :)

It’s interesting that they’ve made it 36 or 41 now. You either go old school or all the way to sub sized. maybe the majority of customers divided into those two groups and the 39 pleased neither. Though I thought the black & white 39s were the darlings of the OP range. Who knows.

    17cm / 6.7” wrist by the way.

  • Which watch are we talking about...?

  • I tried to find the 36mm Black Bay in the Tudor website.

Guess where it is? in the fucking women watches.

  • Isn’t everyone in this thread a virgin?

  • Their new website is poor, but isn’t that just a filter rather than a MECE category? It’s also in the Black Bay section.

  • the fucking women watches

    Pornhub voyeur section?

  • @PawG @Regal

Funny that you say about sizes as I was watching this the other week and its interesting to see how the 39mm and 41mm are very close on many dimensions. Great analysis on this video. I know stated dimensions don't usually reflect the actual sizes in real life but these are very close in most 'cases', ha:

Unfortunately he doesn't have the same comparison for 36mm vs 39mm which would be interesting, im sure its out there somewhere anyway. One interesting thing that I did learn though about the 36mm vs the 41mm is that the hour markers are slightly different even though the overall design is the same, minus hand size and text spacing etc.

The 36mm markers are bevelled on all four sides, the 41mm is only bevelled on two.

    Prefer the 36mm markers.

  • I do think dial colour can also make a difference in size perception depending on the contrast against the case and so on.

  • the Everest - replied to the wrong person :) @DanM

I hadn’t noticed that. Since they kept the 36 markers the way they were, I assume it’s not a cost-saving nerf and that maybe they wanted to make it less glittery (i.e., more masculine).

  • Thanks - now sold though!

  • Just got around to watching that vid and I’m pretty surprised at the dimensions of the 41. My 36 is exactly 36mm.

Also that blue dial looks stunning.

I dug out the photos where I tried the 34/36/39 on. To me, the 34 definitely looked small and the 39 looked big (on my wrist, for the style of watch, anyway - most of my watches are divers in the 40-44 range).

All three were significantly different from each other. I can see why they didn’t add the 41 on top when it’s so close to the 39.
