It was how you used to show off the new vinyl to your mates when they came over.

Get stoned and every 30 minutes someone had to get up to put the other side on.

Depends on the quality of the cutting. Pink Floyd LP's were usually about 23 minutes per side. You could get up to 40 minutes a side but less quality music.

Plus you had to be arsed to get out of the chair when it finished.
