In the saga of 'have I been overcharged on tile adhesive', the reason I've been told for why 120kg was needed for a 3sqm bathroom was that adhesive was applied to walls AND tiles.
No idea if this is standard practice or not? Still seems far fetched to me, but obviously not a pro...
