I like the bounciness when riding off road. Have been using the gravel bike as an interim road bike and not quite as much of a fan on the road, plus they weigh a ton (c15 cut-out)

Fear of the unknown I guess, as with everything on the internet the break in seems to have been hyped up to a bigger thing than it is. 200 miles will go by pretty quick too.
@Eeyorecore good insider info this, thanks. I'll probably avoid the cut outs then, don't fancy a bouncy castle ride.
Given all of these variables I might hold on my purchase until I can travel to a shop that has some loaners for me to try out, think that'll be the only way I'll know which is (if any) right for me

They are only bouncy in the middle but rock hard at the back where your sit bones are.

Prob. A long shot but:
Anyone else had the c13 rails snap?
Riding along las week I heard a cracking sound.
Both rails snapped right in the middle of the clamp.
Torquewrenched all the time. Thomson post with no bits in between. Been installed for over a year now.Wtf.
Brooks says the have no replacement rails and basically told me to piss off.

They told me the same.

I am really gutted to hear of this. It means that vintage saddles with broken hides can’t be re-used. Shocking.

Wrong thread.

C17 Carved on the Brother, took it out for a pad free 40 miles and very pleased with it.
Comfy yet more supportive than the B17 it replaced.

What’s the general consensus on the new cambiums (plastic saddle loops) for bigger luggage I.e Carradice super c. I do have a hobo restivus I can use instead.
Having come from a fabric scoop shallow, then on to a flite 1990 and switching between a turbo, would the shape of the c17 or c15 be similar or those who have switched. I know this is like asking how long a piece of string is.

Mine didn’t even last a single, 1-2” kerb drop with a Carradice on a classic rack on it. I’m glad it broke so quickly as having it break while riding and dump the bag into the wheel could have been pretty catastrophic.
At the time I searched for other examples of failure in the plastic back pieces and found some (not many) that had broken with the bag strapped directly to them.
A C15 will probably be closer in shape to those other saddles. Depends on your seating position/riding style though maybe. I find the C17 quite wide and best suited to more upright and/or sedately ridden bikes.

Good to know, Luckily i have other options for attaching a saddlebag so I wont have to rely on the in built ones. I will be mainly commuting and the odd bit of gravel riding so the c17's wider profile might actually be more beneficial. If you see me selling one on here in the next few weeks assume it wasnt for me ;)

Tensioning a Brooks saddle; the bolt just keeps rotating with the nut when I turn it.
Am I stupid or is it just a terrible design?

Hold the other end with something.

I bought what I was told was a "Brooks Conquest All Terrain". I thought it looked a little small, compared to a B17, so examined it and can just make out that it is a "Countess". If I choose to use it will I crash and die in flames etc?
I got an old Brooks 'Select' for buttons at the friendly lbs, early 80s I'd guess. Initially was rock solid but a 100 miles later its super comfortable. I like colts too mind, had a super comfy one that I regret selling until I remember how much I got for it $$$!
