Let's hope that he makes it through and that they catch those responsible. He's now been in hospital for nearly a month, it must be a nightmare for his family.
James Bascoe-Smith was testing out his new bike on Henry Road, Brixton, when he was set upon by the gang at 6pm on February 23, in an unprovoked attack.
The 17-year-old was stabbed multiple times in the chest and thigh and lay bleeding in front of his family as they desperately battled to save his life.
His family have now issued a fresh appeal to find the attackers as James fights for his life in hospital.
Anyone with information, however insignificant they think it might be, is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 6277/23FEB.
This doesn't seem to have been a bikejacking attempt but an attack for some other reason (or no reason at all). I can't find any mention of his bike being taken, not that that's too important in the light of his injuries.
