It is usually on the R but it's available as an addition for any of them. The R has lower clip ons but the higher ones still work with the fairing.
I love this type of fairing for the effect it has on the ride.

Reckon it works. Great touch of modern and retro.

I'm also thinking your idea of getting after it might be very much like my gone too far :)

Garage is getting a bit crowded....

Garage goals right there.

Space for at least two more without moving much. Bet you could fit an extra five with dedication

Nice collection. How hard is it to get garage space there?

Friend of a friend. On a little 125. Regardless of getting into a situation, or anything like that, it seems like a very good save.

Looks pretty dramatic but he had plenty of room by London standards! :)
-

“Looooooaaaads of room!”
-
• #16962
That's outrageous.

Fingers crossed, if it all works out as I hope (timing wise) I might just be able to get myself a 1098s somewhere late summer.

Always hard to judge speed and distance from cam footage but it was good work to not panic and target fixate on the car.
The situation does look avoidable though - seemed pretty hot coming up the the roundabout (?), given that sort of manoeuvre isn’t uncommon and then little/no attempt to slow down once the car started to move, just hope there was room to pass on the inside.Obviously I probably would have binned it into the back of the car!

Well that's exciting. Played with getting an 1198s this year but went in another direction. Which colour? Asking the important questions.
-

I’ve looked at the 1198s as well, slightly more expensive but not a huge difference.
Happy to get the 1098s with a low mileage against a 1198s with a higher mileage.
I’ve looked at the 848 evo as well but coming from an RSV Mille I’m not sure if that’s what I’m after.
Red with some white details on the panels ideally with either Termi’s or Akra’s. Although I did spot one online with Zard’s that didn’t look bad either.
What did you end up with instead of the 1198s?
-

Yea like I was discussing with the friend, we all get ourselves in ‘avoidable’ situations so abstaining from any judgment on that side. Just a pretty sketchy close call, and a fairly good save.
But all the same, I’d have slowed down the moment I saw the tyres drift over the line.

Think that's a fair assessment they're not too different. I liked the idea of the 1198 being the last of the v twins. Either would be mega though.
I have an RSV too, which I was going to part-ex for it but in the end bought another bike for cheaper thrills and spannering.

Also worth waiting for one with decent pipes, they're always going to be so much more if bought separately.

Ha, great mind thinks alike I guess. My first bike was the 750 GSX-R K2, I got the Mille after that.
The 1098/1198 is the most beautiful bike ever made so far imo.

• #16971
Correct and not always available anymore to purchase new.

Close, but it doesn’t have the last cherry on top like a 916. 916 sits just that little bit better abs the lines flow less fussily.
The subframe fairing is a little excessive on the 1098.
Not that I’d complain about one mind.. -
• #16973
Not arguing on the looks of the 916 but I prefer the overall package of the 10/1198 today.
The 916 was all over my bedroom though when I was younger!

MV F4 personally, if you ignore the exhausts.

Yeah, not so much judgement as ‘what would I do/how can I avoid needing to’.
Yes, same - I cover brakes towards junctions (or any sort of traffic induced undertaking), try keep closing speed reasonable and watch for last minute movements.
Nope, I think that’s the R? His is the regular. It’s a nice bike, sounds great and hides it’s weight very well until you get after it.
