Loads of lovely Eddy's around!
We still don't know if Paris-Roubaix is going ahead next month, but I've just fitted some new tyres to my Team Chips cobble-monster, pass the mayo.

That is perfect

Pass the mayo, indeed. That is fantastic.
MGOF is in great form right now.
@Señor_Bear, very true. Love that analysis.
Bit concerned about DA9100’s bashing recently. It’s an extremely refined groupset and likely the last cable-actuated rim-brake Dura Ace the world will see. It’s a bit of a moment.

It’s like a plum purple

Agree 100%

Not to speak of the dang STI with external shifter cables
You could also change to cable routing à la Zabel
-
• #3209
Ooof, that's perfect! Although I imagine a more traditional tube set might be more comfy on those cobbles...

• #3210
DA cable ain’t dead yet.
-
• #3211
Possibly but ime MAX tubing is plenty comfortable with plush tyres and shallow rims :)

• #3212
said it before but love this one.

Haha never seen before
Looks a bit like anti-anti-friction

• #3214
Oof! Nice. Harry Rowland wheels?
-
• #3215
Interesting. So rim brakes for another generation? Are pro tour brands going to go back to rim brakes and lightweight after ditching them for aero? That would be outrageous.
-
• #3216
9100 was the final cable group I believe. Di2 from now on at the DA level, although I can’t recall the brake situation.
-
• #3217
Yeah I was referring to full mechanical operation, not just cable brakes.
-
• #3218
Di2 and disc brakes are nonsense. I’m not a fan at all. Hopefully there are enough like me that the manufacturers will continue to make top tier cable groups.

Campagnolo, maybe.

Sram has basically pulled out of high end mechanical groupsets right? I could definitely see Shimano making it Ultegra only (which I'm fine with, it's plenty good enough for me). I think Campagnolo will keep doing them though. They just put out Ekar which is mechanical only!

Nice!!
-
• #3223
DA will continue to be available in mechanical & rim brake, there is still a huge market for tor mechanical group sets at the top level.
-
• #3224
Ultegra works and feels great. It's the colour that needs to go away.

I’m shocked and pleased. But which frame manufacturers still make rim pro-level road bikes? Not Bianchi, Cervelo, Scott, BMC, Specialized, Cannondale…I can only think of Colnago and Pinarello.
Infully agree as i would mostly prefer a black setup over a silver(ish) with a modern build
Not to speak of the dang STI with external shifter cables
Hence, i will pursue the unholy route of combining the 7800 group with some 7900 STIs
Edit: thanks for estimates!
