An American friend in NY says “quarter-of”, and I never remember what he means, and have to get him to clarify. He did live in England for a year, but I’ve never heard anyone English say “quarter-of”.

I used to work with a guy who did day numbers and week numbers for dates.
"Let's schedule some time on 4/47"
Which, this year, would indicate 25th of November.4th day
47th week.it was fucking willfully obtuse.

Have we covered meaning of 'bi-weekly' yet?
People are quick to dismiss, but it's actually a decent publication that has helped bring the community together.

I had an American colleague recently who had never heard the word ‘nought’ - I said ‘nought point five’ they had no clue until I realised and went with ‘zero’ ... is that a thing? I thought they’d be good with this kind of stuff from when they’re doing their weekly ammo shopping.

That's why I said 'amount of hundreds not divisible by 10'. 45 is not divisible by 10.
Method acting!
