Spring is here but it is still too cold for a longer journey. Can't wait till we can do a proper long ride with some tent camping included.

This thread was supposed to slow down, allowing more time to a young family.
I see no such thing.
As others said,
I'm in awe each time it pops up.
Many thanks. -

Thank you. I don't feel like I've picked up speed. But it's hard to keep track of what I end up spending time on :)

I finally found the time to rebuild my road bike wheels last night. I did build them up last year's, but spokes were too short.
Novatec rear hub and WI front hub on Mavic A319 with DT Swiss Comp or Rev spokes. Can't remember.Bike rides really nice with the new wheels and GP 4 seasons, but I can't wait for summer so I can put on my Vittoria Corsa gun walls.

I love that bike. I’ll be so sad when you kill the paint with fire, but I also appreciate that it gets modded and repurposed rather than you just building something new new new all the time
Those spokes are definitely DT Revolution btw

Sorry for moving the conversation away from the lovely road bike, but how would one go about making something similar (the dropout spacers) without the access to heavy machinery? My gf's bike has horizontal dropouts which has given me - and others - a bit of a headache in terms of getting tyres and guards to fit while keeping acceptable shifting. It currently has those dropout screws but let's face it they're just a bit shit.

THere is loads of ways. Why not just use a chaintug?
Show me a photo of the problem -

I've used short chainring bolts, they're made to fit in a 10mm hole so fit in the dropouts too.

Ta.
I have just accepted a custom panto commission actually and I might accept more in the future. But really i don't have much spare time for this sort of stuff.

I haven't got the bike with me unfortunately, it's at the workshop.
Basically I'd like permanent spacers at the back in the horizontal dropouts, so the wheel can be removed and put back without having to worry about axle placement.
Chain tugs could work, they don't look great though and I don't need/want the axle to go "through" anything. Thanks @Samuli that's worth a try.

V2 might just be what we need. Yours look so much more artisanal though...

Should be pretty easy to replicate with some brass plate, some square alu stock, a hacksaw, drill and some files.

Summertime is just around the corner!
Although these short little afternoon trips are great fun I really wanna take the little one camping and with better weather that is bound to happen.

That engraving looks so good. Thank you for sharing the video here and not only in IG.
