  • I think its all about how people see themselves.

  • People choose bigger cars because of a need to ferry others children about?

  • I suspect this forum underindexes in people who'll go out and buy/lease/PCP a brand new car, so there's already a difference in mentality.

  • Imagine if Apple started making e-bikes, they'd be fucking everywhere. But that won't bring my 3rd Gen ipod back to life.

  • I mean I get that it's practical, but does it have to look so depressing? I have no idea how function dictates form in this instance - I assume it has to be a bit taller to fit the seating arrangement. But still, is this the best they could do?

  • Oh for sure. Loads of people I know would rather pay £200/mo, than have any potential risk or faff with buying second hand in any shape or form. The same people were also always snobby about my old Astra that cost 3k and gave me 80k trouble free miles.

I do appreciate that owning an Astra for a decade hardly makes me a car guy in this argument, but still.

  • I'm with you on this, I'm not against the buyers, I take umbrage with BMW making a premium practical car and makes it look shite. They're not exactly doing well with any of their cars at the moment though are they.

  • Seemed crazy to me too, but that was my life for years. I went to school a good 20-25 minute drive away from home, so we car shared with 2 other parents so all 3 parents weren't having to make basically the same journey every day, and gave each parent a rest some days.

Loads of kids do activities every weekend that mean they have to be driven somewhere and sure, you could probably argue that every parent should attend everything their kid does, but if it's every fucking Saturday for 10 years, having a bigger car so you can share picking them up and dropping them off with other parents sounds like a good deal to me.

  • I saw the new highlighter yellow M4 in the flesh at the weekend and it looks even worse than the pictures... It might be the worst car I've ever seen.

  • Anyway, probably enough "sensible" chat.

  • I can't imagine why you'd pay BMW money if you wanted a boring practical car though, unless someone else was paying for it.

Some people a car is just a thing that moves them from a to b. Starts when the key turns and that is it. Usually leased so not as if the car will be around for that long.

  • There is a highlighter blue one near me. It's made especially awful because it is the same blue that has been the mainstay colour of every plastic toy from my son's childhood over past 8 years.

Nice car and props for not choosing black or grey, but Thomas the Tank Engine blue is not a good choice.

  • We got an S-max after years of V70s when 3 kids got older and the full size seats in the back meant vastly reduced squabbling. It has been excellent for camping/ski trips etc, but i accepted it was always going to be the low point in my driving self-worth.
Almost through the other side now so hoping to get something slightly more fun at some stage soon.

  • I love my C-Max. The rear middle seat can fold up with the other two sliding in and back to create a roomy 4 seater. This is off that back of a 2004 Panda so I have not very much to go off.

  • Thanks bud -- will give them a call. Any other recommends gratefully received!

  • I love my Touran. Fight me

  • I've always enjoyed Transporters.

  • Dat Evo VI...

  • Travesty.

  • Probably my favourite of the Evos. So sick.

  • odd that isn't it. definitely see quite a few mitsubishis on the roads still; new ones at that. they can't be selling that badly?

  • Does seem strange doesn't it. I'm sure it's happened but I can't think of another manufacturer that's just stopped supporting / selling into a whole country before. I assume it won't be the first (manufacturer or industry) over the coming years

  • tbf the newest outlanders are fucking hideous. i don't get how a new car can actually look so old

  • No more L200 DeathAxeNinjaRetaliator UberKompensationWagens? Oh dear.
