  • Is the headtube too low and the top tube too short?
    Seat tube length is really not a good indicator of frame size. You could make exactly the same size frame with a 50cm seat tube or a 60cm one, the position wouldn't necessarily change

  • @PhilDAS With a horizontal top tube, wouldn't it make sense that I need the same seat tube length I have on other horizontal top tube bikes - the top of the headtube would be in the same place wouldn't it?

    The top tube is fine, just don't want a tower of spacers.

    @Glws Weirdly it is an optimo one - seat tube is 56cm to the top of the tube, obviously less to the centre of it.

    Only in height, it could be any length.
    I'm sure it's fine for a general rule of thumb. It's just handy knowing your ideal measurements in other dimensions.
