I always thought the lady spraying her coffee out was Jennifer Lawrence. But it isn't.

“I have always been against racism in all forms, so am terminating my
contract with Stirling Publishing with immediate effect,” Burchill
told the Guardian on Tuesday. The day after she lost a court case for being racist. Amazing.

I don't think it went to court, did it? Was settled out of court to, ahem, save face.

How nice we are planning to send the new aircraft carrier to the far east to show them we can project power, like we don't have better problems to tackle
I'm assuming we're doing this because it means we get to 1. pretend that we're the Empire of old, 2. that we're a "mini super-power" rather than a mid-size European country, and 3. that by effectively adding a small carrier battle group and some F35's to the local US deployment then the Biden administration will allow us to destroy the peace in Ireland.

Burchill could reflect on why a white nationalist was motivated to snap up the rights to her book. She won't, of course.

Riot police have arrived at the anti-lockdown protest:

The struggle for USB 3 is real.

• #63670
That this rally seems to be large suggests that various tribes have joined together there, doesn't it? Apart from extremes like P**** C*****, there must be other people who simply haven't quite grasped the lockdown thing and thought they'd protest against it without underlying conspiracy theories, or are they all conspiracists?

They're all thick fucks let's face it

I bumped into the protest on the way down from Regents Park. Police numbers were low and they hadn’t formed a perimeter around the protesters so there was a lot of milling around on both sides.
Usual characters in hoodies hanging around the edges in case it got interesting.
I’ve seen more impressive riots.I was bursting for a P so ended up riding through the edge of the protests on Haymarket making a couple jump out of the way.I’d pulled up my snood thing as a mask, copper saw me do it and I did a sort of shrug he let me past.
Lots more police and horses on Whitehall.
Wouldn’t call it a riot saw one bloke arrested but none of his mates joined in.

• #63673
Thankfully they weren’t women or the police would’ve had to use real force.

Not to say the met aren't twats, but it seems pretty predictable that any demonstration / protest this week would have seen a less heavy handed response, wouldn't it?
After the press last time, what team leader wouldn't brief everyone saying "whatever you do I don't want any scenes that will get us in the press". They'd have to be idiots to do the same immediately...

This is the Met we’re talking about, yes?
They actually do look alike though. It’s not like when I once went for forum drinks and someone was insistent that I was Corny and was mistaken to say otherwise.
