Fear of the unknown I guess, as with everything on the internet the break in seems to have been hyped up to a bigger thing than it is. 200 miles will go by pretty quick too.

Given all of these variables I might hold on my purchase until I can travel to a shop that has some loaners for me to try out, think that'll be the only way I'll know which is (if any) right for me
Break in for Brooks saddles seems to be a different story for every rider.
I've ridden a variety of them over the last 25-30 years and have never required a break-in period, they felt fine (if a little rigid) right out of the box.
