  • Happened to me during wet thick snowy days this winter while I borrowed my gfs bike. Snow locked the front wheel in quite high speed. Didn’t crash though as it ejected in time to save it.

  • yes, mostly when fresh leaves and foliage on the ground get rained on the first few times in atumn. then a lot of it ends up in the guards, if you dont have them set up so that the distance to the tire starts at its minimum and increases.
    but thats like 2 weeks a year, otherwise its fine: either more wet, so that everythings flushed through, or so dry that nothing gets sucked in.
    mud and studded tires are a different story though... they need lots of clearance imo.
