Yeah I think if you don't want to pay the price of shimano kits then you just have to take a punt on these no name hoses. It's certainly possibly QC isn't going to be the same as shimano.
fwiw I didn't have any issues with mine, no split hoses, brakes work and I still have all my teeth...
