Ta. I certainly think so.

Looks great. Good choice on the colour too. Paint should be as ritzy as possible.

That fork is so good. Would he do a pair individually? Best 44mm straight->steel fork transition ive seen

PM'd you.
For the record it's actually a 49mm headtube! So 44mm-to-28.6 is going to look more sleek...

Turned out super nice, well done. Which GK model are you using?

Thanks!
Gravelkings just say TLC on the side. They have a file tread and are 700c*38 (measures 40). I believe they're the tubeless-compatible model, regular rather than "plus". I bought them from @Eamesy though, he might know more?

Did some riding in the borders today on this. It performed admirably on dirt, gravel and tarmac.

How are you getting on with this?
I took the inbred I bought from you camping this weekend. Spent too much time on the Radavist so it looks like it can handle anything, when in reality I will be mostly on tarmac. Realised a compromise between it and my CDF would be ideal. Which would look something like your new bike! So let me know when you upgrade...

It's ace. I've recently ticked over the 1,000 mile mark and am still loving the bike. It's a keeper I'm afraid... :)

This is getting Portland Design Works 650b fenders, which will be in the post shortly, and Shimano GRX 11 speed which is installed and awaiting cable trimming at the LBS. It's also finally getting the dynamo lights installed (Supernova E3 triple and matching tail light)

How did you get on with the big volume g-ones? I've been looking at 50mm "speeds" for summer but saw comments in the gravel thread about self steering so trying to get the lay of the land a bit
-
• #113
I commuted on 50mm's for years, they're fantastic
-
• #115
They do self-steer but I believe it's due to wheel flop rather than anything inherent in the tyre. I could change my Angleset headset angle to change the flop tendency but I can't be bothered as I stopped noticing it or caring the second ride.
They (schwalbe g one all-round in 650*57) "feel fast" for a big tyre even with tubes.

Point taken, "never" selling though :) photos as soon as I catch up with @hollow__legs

This bike has had some updates.
I've moved on from the dynamo setup, as it wasn't working for me - riding slowly off-road is a recipe for flickering lights!
I'm running 700*42 WTB resolute tyres, which are excellent. Soon to go tubeless. For the moment I'm too lazy to do the tubeless setup.
Thinking about a carbon fork, but I can never decide which one.
Cheers. Reynolds 853. Don't know the weight, and probably not going to weigh it :) the fork is porky but that's to be expected with the plated crown. The frame weight will be pretty average for a steel bike.
