Is fixing 22mm flooring direct to joists a daft idea to save on some labour and materials? Or would I be better off paying for a sub floor to lay flooring on top of?
No particular floor in mind yet. I've had quotes for engineered wood on top on a ply sub floor. X2 material and X2 labour adds up. So I wondered if I could lay 22mm t&g boards, preferably hardwood, straight onto the joints to reduce some cost
